A very special 2013 Wish Tree Christmas Appeal

JCI Eastern had a special Wish Tree Christmas Appeal in 2013. JCI Eastern was contacted by our community partner, the Ismaili Community, about hosting a Wish Tree workshop for primary school age kids. This workshop was part of the Ismaili Community's teaching program themed "People Helping People" aiming at educating young kids the importance of voluntary services.

As a result, JCI Eastern organised a a half-day creative workshop on Sunday 22 September 2013 at the Jaycee Hall in Nunawading. The workshop started with our Past Chapter President, Suzi Chen, briefly discussed with the children about JCI Eastern and the value and importance of community volunteering. The Wish Tree workshop then continued with a handcraft session involving children making Christmas presents for donation. The donated presents were latter included in JCI Eastern's Hampers In Action initiative.

JCI Eastern thanks the Ismaili Community for donating their time and effort to support our local initiative. We are also pleased to have an opportunity to show young kids what JCI's active citizen is all about!
